Appalachian Express Account

The Appalachian Express Account is an optional account that may be set up for a student’s convenience. This account allows for funds to be deposited and then accessed by the AppCard in specific campus locations. The Appalachian Express Account is separate from the Meal Account, but it is still accessed by the AppCard. The Express Account can be used in:

  • The University Bookstore
  • All Food Services Locations
  • Vending Machines
  • The Jackson Dining Room at The Broyhill Inn
  • Student Union for ticket sales
  • Medical Center for prescriptions and other charges
  • Student Accounts Office
  • Crossroads Coffee House
  • Library and Information Commons for fines and fees
  • Athletic Ticket Office
  • Some Laundry Machines

Off-campus students may open an Appalachian Express Account for a minimum of $20 at the AppCard Office in Trivette Hall. NOTE: The Appalachian Express Account DOES NOT REPLACE THE MEAL ACCOUNT FOR ON CAMPUS STUDENTS!

We accept MasterCard, Visa, checks and cash for deposits to Express accounts.

What is the refund policy for the Appalachian Express Account?

A portion of the balance remaining in the Appalachian Express Account at the end of the spring semester in May could be refunded. There is a $50.00 charge for processing this refund .   For example, an Appalachian Express Account with $110 balance would get a $60.00 refund.   Refunds will be given once per year to students who request it by the last working day before commencement in May. Request for refunds must be made through the Food Services Office in Trivette Hall.   Refunds will be issued from the Student Accounts Office in John E.
