Sexual Assault

The Boone Police Department is investigating an alleged sexual assault at an event held at Geno's on Highway 105 on Thursday April 3, 2008.  Persons with information are urged to contact Boone Police Department Investigator Matt Stevens at 828-268-6936, Watauga Area Crimestoppers at 828-268-6959, or report information anonymously to the ASU Police Department by using this link: Report Crime Information Anonymously Online

Tips on being SAFE:

•  Always try and walk with a friend, especially during the hours of darkness.

•  Be aware of your surroundings.

•  Do not hesitate to call police if you feel that you're in an uncomfortable situation.

•  When going out designate a responsible friend to look after you and others.

•  Avoid walking in isolated or poorly lighted areas.  

Notification to the campus of a serious crime is required by federal law.
